Introduction
This time, I'm going to amaze you.
In the previous episodes of "Bites of my life," I explained how I earned my first euros as an artist.
In today's episode, I'm bringing you something big.
More money, more projects, more excitement.
In this edition #32 of the Art Missive, I'm here to convince you that pursuing your dreams is more than just a movie plot.
I truly believe that you can be an artist, make a comfortable living, and live the life you've always dreamed of. I hope you’ll believe that too.
Hold on tight, here we go.
Make money while sleeping.
These past few months, I haven't been idle. I focused on stabilizing my art business to launch new projects.
Since May, I've been earning an average income of 2,000€ per month.
This money mainly comes from the sales of my Instagram Growth Guide for Artists, which was a hit thanks to my community and the results my students achieved.
While creating the Guide and its sales funnel took a lot of effort, today everything is automated and I'm making money even while sleeping.
💡And that's a result you can achieve too. In my opinion, selling digital products (courses, templates, tutorials, brush packs, PSDs, and digital art items) is a stable and accessible income stream for artists. You don't need extensive skills, it's easy to sell, easy to update, and perfect for getting started! I recommend it to all artists looking to generate their initial income.
Thanks to this significant milestone, I'll be able to fulfill two of my biggest dreams and scale my art business.
Start a Patreon!
Let's be honest, I've been jealous of artists like Loish and Guweiz for years who have thousands of followers on Patreon.
These artists are living their dream, creating projects that resonate with them and connecting artists worldwide, all while earning a living.
It's the ultimate aspiration.
And guess what? I'm making it happen too!
Come September, I'm launching my very own Patreon.
Sure, there's nervousness, imposter syndrome, and a fear of falling short, but I'm all in!
I'm prepared because I've got a solid launch strategy in place.
Patreon Launch Checklist.
Upon the launch of my Patreon, I'll send you a more detailed Art Missive about how I approached it. But here's what I've planned to ensure a successful Patreon launch:
☑ Subscribe to several artists on Patreon to understand how the platform works and jot down all post ideas to build an extensive content bank.
☑ Note down every post that an artist publishes in a month to create an extensive list of content ideas and grasp best practices.
☑ Ask my audience what they're expecting from my Patreon.
☑ Study Top Patreon creators: dissect their public profiles to understand what makes people subscribe.
☑ Instagram Promotion: Investigate how successful artists promote their Patreon on Instagram for inspiration.
☑ Craft a storytelling document. On Patreon, people primarily subscribe to a personality. So, I'll brainstorm the story I want to tell and the universe I want to build on my Patreon. Here's a fantastic example of an engaging story:
☑ Teaser time! Nothing's worse than dropping news out of the blue. Each week, I'll be teasing my tribe and community to get them ready for the big reveal!
☑ Spruce up my profile, drawing inspiration from successful Patreons.
☑ Preparing Posts: Create a batch of initial posts before making my profile public to maintain a consistent flow.
☑ Give my super fans a heads-up in advance, offering them early access to my Patreon and VIP perks! That way, I'm not starting from scratch.
You know me: I truly believe that careful planning makes success!
I'm dedicating the next three years to developing this Patreon. By then, my goal is to reach a monthly Patreon income of 5,000€.
However, launching this Patreon is not the only change I'm going to implement in the coming months. And the one that follows... you didn't see it coming.
Travel the world.
I'm embarking on a world tour!
Yes, that was my childhood dream.
Being tied to a 9 to 5 job would never have allowed me this opportunity. Taking the plunge as an artist opens up the door to living the life I've always envisioned: sketching my way across the world.
I'm starting with a full year in Asia!
I'll be leaving in October, and of course, I'm bringing Tsuki along.
Get ready for some exciting shifts within the demon tribe. I'm planning to use my content to transport you with me and spark your imagination as you chase your own dreams!
I'm even gearing up to launch a YouTube channel where I'll showcase both my art and my travels. No BS promised! You know me, I like to bring value to my audience.
All of this to say that a year ago, I didn't think this would be possible.
I’m not special or talented, I just made the right choices:
letting go of the idea of 'social success' and instead pursuing what truly ignites my passion
strategizing for success
building unwavering discipline
working hard
letting go of the ego, accepting failure and focusing on constant learning
I might not yet be a wildly successful artist, but my aspirations are set much higher.
What I want most is for my art and experience to make your heart skip a bit and inspire your mind to dream bigger!
